When you can vote – and where
VOTING OPENS 20 SEPTEMBER 2019
The 2019 Local Elections are primarily a postal vote – though you can drop off your vote at various locations (see below) if you prefer. There is no online voting.
Voting is open from 20 September – 12 October 2019.
If you are registered, you will be sent your voting papers in the mail, along with information about all the candidates. You’ll have the chance to vote for your choice of mayor, councillors, local board members, district health board members and (depending where you live) licensing trust members.
POST YOUR VOTES NO LATER THAN 8 OCTOBER!
Election officials say all postal votes should be mailed no later than 8 October to make sure they get there in time.
VOTING CLOSES MIDDAY, SATURDAY 12 OCTOBER!
You can still put your vote into a ballot box at various locations – including libraries and council offices.
