Editorial accolade for Ruth

High editorial praise for Heart of the Shore’s Ruth Jackson in today's Devonport Flagstaff newspaper – pointing out that she’s the only candidate for the Devonport-Takapuna Local Board to have attended every board meeting this year.
Ruth and Heart of the Shore candidates have all been regulars at local board meetings over a number of years. It’s what makes our team unique: Not only do we show up when the board discusses items we’re actively involved with ourselves, but over a long period of time we’ve also taken the time to be informed on a whole range of projects and issues across the area.
The piece, by Flagstaff editor Rob Drent, reads:
“In the lead-up to local body elections, it always amazes me the lack of research done by candidates in the months running up to nominations and polling. I would have thought the first thing a potential candidate would do is go along to as many board meetings as they could to get a gauge of the issues and work involved.
“Some candidates have attended meeting on issues they are interested in. But the only nominee to have attended every board meeting from the public gallery in 2019 is Ruth Jackson. At the very least, she deserves a medal for that marathon effort.”
